During the dueling Republican and Democratic National Conventions, Rev. Dr. William Barber’s Moral Movement asked both parties to allow him to address with them the Scripture’s call to justice for the oppressed. The Republican National Convention refused even to accept the signed request for this talk. The Democratic National Convention not only considered the request but asked Dr. Barber to become a key speaker.
