Week in the World: A Moral call to the Nation

During the dueling Republican and Democratic National Conventions, Rev. Dr. William Barber’s Moral Movement asked both parties to allow him to address with them the Scripture’s call to justice for the oppressed.  The Republican National Convention refused even to accept the signed request for this talk.  The Democratic National Convention not only considered the request but asked Dr. Barber to become a key speaker.

Here is his moving talk to the nation, which he invited both parties to consider:

 

Whatever your political orientation, Barber’s words call us all to act with conscience and faith.  As a southern preacher from North Carolina, the heart of our current fight for social justice and civil rights, Barber speaks with integrity a message for all people.
