Hebrews 4:11-6 reminds me that before God we lay naked, bare, and vulnerable. Often we might put on masks and airs, trying to appear to have things together more than we do. We build walls of invulnerability that hide our heartaches and pain yet keep others out. Yet God sees – and loves us, accepts us, and (when necessary) forgives us. God opens arms wide to us in Christ not despite who we are but seeing us with all our flaws and vulnerabilities. Knowing that the God of the universe accepts us how ought we to let our walls down and connect with Christ and each other?
